The Move ~I have decide this was my last move for a lifetime. It is official I will dye and die here and my ashes will be fed to the goldfish....LOL. First I must thank everyone who helped, sent words of encouragement and brought baked goodies...the extra sugar sh kept me going. Thank you to everyone for being so patient during this transition. The building while smaller is home. The mill will be back up soon and yarn we spun up before we packed and shipped the machines is being dyed and will be on the website soon. Unfortunately, we will not have set hours until after SAFF in Asheville, which is the last weekend in October. It is a terrific show and if you are up for a road trip filled with beautiful scenary then you should plan to go. My kids will be finished with fall sports and I can devote all of my time to the shop, classes, yarn, etc.. As most of you have heard we are no longer carrying commercial yarn. This was a hard well thought out decision. For years and years my husband and I made a living selling our brand yarns and we love everything that goes into developing a yarn. When we opened the shop and felt the pressure to carry commercial yarn we gave in and unfortunately felt like we lost a little bit of what we are all about. We decided to reclaim that and to showcase the yarns and fibers we dye and make. I still offer books, notions, needles, etc.. We are so excited about the new website and the ability to keep you informed with new products, classes and happenings. Please use the forums, blog and email to let us know what you would like to see as far as colorways, yarn blends, classes, etc. After all we have to keep Mark busy spinning. About UsFor those of you who are new to YarnSmiths we are a family owned business. We started in the yarn idustry nine years ago. We pride ourselves in selecting, spinning and dyeing some of the finest fiber and fiber blends available. Are we fiber snobs? Sometimes, but as most of our faithful customers will tell you we make luxury yarns and rovings affordable. Why not work with quality products to make your project more of a fiber arts journey~ |
